I am looking forward to catching up with friends and classmates soon as I’ve been reconnecting with many of you while compiling a slideshow for our reunion. I live with my husband, Jim, and our 19-year old son James (a freshman in college—I only married in 1997) in Santa Monica, CA. For the past 32 years I’ve been a Professor of Anthropology at the University of Southern California. I love teaching, writing and filmmaking and look forward to continuing to do all three in the future. I began my career as an anthropologist working for Margaret Mead at the American Museum of Natural History in NYC and went off to Papua New Guinea for fieldwork in 1978. I have been conducting research there and in other parts of the world for the past 40 years. My most recent trip to PNG was in 2015.
